In an industry that relies upon projects to complete its work, a certification helps ensure that project managers are ready to effectively manage their projects around the world. PM4NGOs, the publisher of the Guide to the PMD Pro, offers a three-level certification program for project practitioners working in the development sector.
The level 1 certification requires the project practitioner to successfully complete the PMD Pro1 certification examination. This 75-question multiple-choice examination is taken on-line and requires candidates to demonstrate that they know and understandthe content of the Guide to the PMD Pro. The learning objectives for the PMD Pro1 examination are found in the Appendix of the Guide to the PMD Pro.
There are two objectives for the PM4NGOs Level 2 Certification:
1. To provide a second level contextualized project management credential for the development sector; AND
2. To provide a platform from which development practitioners can begin to pursue an internationally-accredited professional qualification in project management.
The PMD Pro2 examination is taken on-line and requires candidates to demonstrate their ability to apply and analyze the contents of the Guide to the PMD Pro. Each of the questions in the PMD Pro2 examination is based on development project scenarios and is designed to test the PMD Pro2 learning objectives found in the Appendix of the Guide to the PMD Pro.
The level 3 certification is under development and will assess the extent to which the PMD Pro3 candidate applies the content of the Guide to the PMD Pro to their development projects. The level 3 certification is still under development and there is no estimated date for its launch.
